Our Carbon Fiber reinforced ABS is made from Carbon Fibers infused with our original series Standard ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) 3D printer filament which is our popular, tried and tested thermoplastic filament.

Carbon Fiber ABS 3D printer filament Canada

  • Standard ABS reinforced with 15% high-modulus carbon fiber.
  • Strong and light weight, ideal for structural designs.
  • Stiff
  • Matte finish
  • Less visible layer lines
  • Prints like normal ABS
  • Abrasive filament - Wear resistant nozzle (0.4mm or larger) is recommended.

Our premium grade ABS is one of the most popular 3D printer filament because it is strong as well as impact and heat resistant! ABS has a longer life span compared to PLA, it is durable and well suited for detailed and demanding 3D prints. Ideal for prototypes as well as functional 3D printed parts. ABS can also be used conjointly with support filament such as PVA, HIPS etc. ABS has a slightly more matte finish than PLA.

ABS is a great choice for mechanical designs, designed with interlocking/pin-connected pieces etc. The high melting point of ABS also makes it ideal for car parts.

ABS should be printed in enclosed printers and in well ventilated areas whenever possible for improved printing performance as well as reduced odor.

ABS prints can be sanded or smoothed using an advanced technique such as an acetone vapor bath. Acetone in general, when applied to ABS can help produce parts that are glossy and smooth. This process may also strengthen the parts themselves by binding the printed layers together.

ABS filaments should be stored in a cool dry place since ABS tends to absorb some moisture from the atmosphere which can compromise quality and performance.

The Filaments.ca Brand Advantage:

Since 2014, the Filaments.ca brand ABS has been the material of choice for professionals and hobbyist alike due to it's durability, low cost and wide range of printing temperatures; Our ABS has been successfully used on both entry level machines as well as high-end industrial printers where temperatures are preset to well over 300c!

Our premium grade ABS is a result of continually improving formulation based on feedback from our customers & the 3D printing community. Selling in such high volumes gives the Filaments.ca brand an edge over competitors by being able to analyze trends accurately and implement preventive actions to ensure the high quality of our product is maintained and improved.

All our products are stored in and shipped from our own fully controlled warehouse. Having full control over storage conditions, product packaging as well as maintaining a FIFO (First In First Out) storage system is crucial in maintaining optimal freshness of 3D our printing consumables.

3d filament net weight NET WEIGHT: 1 KG (2.2 LB)
virgin raw material 3d filaments Made from 100% Grade A Virgin Raw Materials: We've seen first hand what prints from recycled filaments can look like, issues such as visible discoloration and other inconsistencies are common. From the very beginning, we've always guaranteed in writing that our filaments are made from pure grade virgin resin, giving you consistent high quality prints, beautiful look and feel.
laser diameter controlled 3d filaments Controlled using Non-Contact Laser Diameter Gauge: Rapid, precise and repeatable measurements to exact dimensional tolerances. Such gauges allow us to maintain consistent high quality filament by automatically stopping a production line the moment a non-conforming measurement is detected. So regardless of the 3D printer you are using, the consistently round diameters provide optimum flow through the extruder nozzle.
high strength abs 3d filaments Strong and Sturdy CF-ABS: Stronger and lighter than standard ABS, more impact resistant and longer lifespan.
high resolution 3d filaments Ideal for High Resolution Prints: Our filaments will give you outstanding results even when printing at ultra high resolution using the latest 3D printers.
reliable 3d filaments Tested on a Wide Range of 3D Printers: We repeatedly and accurately test our filaments in-house, but more importantly, we act based on feedback from thousands of customers all across Canada (Thank you!)
rohs compliant 3d filaments Compliant, Registered and Certified: Our filaments comply with the Restriction of Hazardous Substance (RoHS) directive and certified by SGS. Why is it important? It basically means the filaments are free from lead and other potentially hazardous substances including cadmium, mercury and chromium VI, among others.
moisture free 3d filaments Moisture Protected Packaging: Some 3D printing materials can be negatively affected by moisture, that's why every product made by us is packed inside an air tight package along with a moisture absorbing desiccant pack. Furthermore, we've taken an extra precautionary step and will also ship you 1 free resealable bag as well as 1 free extra desiccant pack for every spool that you order. Regardless of the type of filament or the manufacturer. This will enable you to easily keep your filaments at an optimal storage condition and free from dust or dirt AFTER opening the original packaging, so its always ready for your next print.
pantone color 3d filaments Produced According to a Standardized Color System: Every colored filament we manufacture is formulated according to a standard color system such as the Pantone Color Matching System. This is important in order to ensure consistent color shade with every batch as well as allowing us to produce specialty colors such as metallic and custom colors.

3d printing temperature guideline Printing
Temperature:

Notes:

230°C - 260°C
  • Heated print bed recommended. Set your print bed temperature to approximately 80°C - 110°C. After the first few layers, it’s best to turn down your print bed temperature a bit.
  • Higher print temp. may be needed as this is a "filled" filament.
  • Sticks well to Polyimide/Kapton tape, PET tape.
  • Sticks well to extra strong hair spray.
  • Sticks well with "ABS Juice" (scrap ABS filament dissolved in acetone).
  • Minimum 0.4mm nozzle (if you have the option, use a larger nozzle).
  • Wear resistant nozzle recommended.
